Dancing with Light

A personal approach to photography and how to find light and use it is the use of light.
In the heart of Copenhagen, where streets meet Nordic skies, light becomes more than just illumination—it becomes a dance partner. I often use the phrase “dancing” because I see both the situations and how light behaves, like a dance. I move around, dancing with my subjects, and i dance with the light.
Street photography here is not only about chasing moments, but about learning to move with the rhythm of the city and the subtle choreography of light. The right light isn’t just how a full street is lit, it is often much more detailed. Reflections and light as it appears in just a narrow space of one square meter.
“Dancing with Light” is a personal approach. An invitation to see beyond the obvious, to find beauty in reflections on rain-slicked pavements, how it bounces and lit up a face, and the quiet drama of shadows cast by bicycles and spires.
This approach to photography is not about gear or perfection. It’s about presence. It’s about learning to see light not just as a tool, but as a storyteller. Whether you’re capturing the buzz of Nyhavn or the stillness of a side alley in Nørrebro, the magic lies in how you let the light lead.
Let light be your guide. And let your camera follow the dance. A big part of all my workshops is the search for light and learn to see it. You find my workshops here, and I will love to see you out there. Let’s find the spirit of light together.
