Two Days of Light: A Street Photography Journey in Copenhagen

I didn’t expect to spend two hours underground in the Metro — but that’s exactly what happened on the workshop in Copenhagen. Everybody was sugged in to the underground atmosphere, and exploring all the different ways of using light and composition, as well as the always important decisive moment.

What started as a quick stop turned into a deep dive into light, movement, and the quiet poetry of people in transit. The way the light cut through the space, the rhythm of commuters, the unexpected stillness — it was impossible to leave. We were completely absorbed.

Those two days in Copenhagen were all about chasing light and finding stories in the streets. The city offered so much — from bold architecture to quiet corners, from hard to soft light reflections to the candid beauty of everyday life. We wandered, observed, and captured. It felt like the city was performing just for the camera.

To wrap it all up, I host a post-Zoom session where we look at selected photos from the workshop. It is a chance to reflect, share, and offer each other thoughtful feedback and learning experience. Seeing how others interpreted the same city is incredibly inspiring — everyone bring their own eye, their own story.

This workshop reminded me why I love street photography: it’s not just about the image, but about being present, curious, and open to the unexpected.
