FLORENCE – September 3–5, 2027

3-day Street Photo Workshop in beautiful Florence. This workshop is an experience where we walk the streets, find the best light and situations, including after critique and post editing in Lightroom and/or Capture One.

Florence is a city of layered light: stone that glows, tight streets that carve shadows, and open piazzas where gestures play out like theatre. Over two focused days, we’ll shoot in the heart of the city—working with light, timing, and composition—so you leave with a repeatable approach you can use anywhere.
This extended course includes editing workflow, tips and tricks for best practise and editing pictures for best results.

If you have questions, need help ordering, or prefer receiving an invoice for payment, just send an email.

We will have an apartment avaliable for meeting and photo editing.

Description

What to expect

This workshop combines hands-on street photography with editing and review.

Across the three days, we will work with:

  • observation and visual awareness
  • light and shadow
  • timing and anticipation
  • composition and simplification
  • building stronger frames in real streets and real situations
  • selecting and editing your photographs afterwards
  • creating a clearer and more personal workflow

We will base ourselves in Oltrarno, on the other side of the Arno, and work outward from there — beginning around Piazza Santo Spirito and the surrounding side streets. From Oltrarno, we will cross the Arno for fresh angles and wider city views, including Florence’s bridges and more central areas where flow, gesture, and layered scenes offer different photographic challenges.

Day 1 begins with coffee, introductions, and a brief visual overview of the workshop before we head into the city. We will focus on light, timing, framing, and how to approach the streets with greater awareness and confidence.

Day 2 builds on the first day and gives you more time to work with flow, layers, gesture, and the changing character of the city. We continue photographing in both quieter and more active parts of Florence, refining your approach as the day progresses.

Day 3 is dedicated to post-editing and photo review. We will work with image selection, workflow, and editing in Lightroom or Capture One, looking at how to shape a more consistent and personal body of work. We will also cover useful areas such as colour and black-and-white editing, lens corrections, and building a clearer editing routine.

Typical workshop hours are:

Day 1: 10:00–17:00 Day 2: 10:00–17:00 Day 3: 10:00–15:00

Small group format

The workshop is limited to 4–10 participants. This creates space for personal feedback, individual guidance, and time to work at your own pace.

Before the workshop, you will receive a short questionnaire about your experience, goals, camera, and lenses, so the teaching can be tailored more closely to you.

All camera brands and formats are welcome.

The third day aims to make the learning more complete by connecting what you photographed with how you select, edit, and understand your own work. You leave with both practical experience from the streets and a clearer structure for continuing afterwards.

Practicalities

Participants arrange their own travel, accommodation, and meals. Relaxed coffee breaks during the workshop are included.

Please come prepared for the weather, with charged batteries, empty memory cards, or fresh film. If you plan to join the editing day, please also bring a laptop with either Lightroom or Capture One installed.

Meeting point

We meet at Piazza Santo Spirito, by the fountain in the centre of the square, 50125 Firenze

It is recommended to find a hotel or Airbnb within a short distance of Santo Spirito or Oltrarno, or somewhere with easy transport, so you can begin the mornings calmly and ready to work.

Booking

After signing up, you will receive a short questionnaire about your goals, camera, and lenses, as well as practical information before the workshop and follow-up information afterwards.

If you have any questions before booking, you are very welcome to get in touch.

If you would like three focused days of street photography, editing, and personal guidance in Florence, you are very welcome to join.
