Two days of street photography in Málaga, working through the historic centre, the waterfront, and the city’s shifting light.
Using colour with purpose and intention.
Part of the workshop is dedicated to understanding your camera setup, lens choices, and how to work confidently with your gear in real-life situations. Then we focus on observation, timing, composition, and learning to recognise the moments and light that give a photograph life. We review and talk during the day, and all workshops are organic, so we adapt to the group’s needs.

What to expect
This workshop is built around learning in real streets and real situations.
Across the two days, we will work with:
- observation and visual awareness
- light, shadow, and timing
- composition and simplification
- photographing people and places with greater confidence
- building a clearer and more consistent photographic approach
Day 1 focuses on light, rhythm, and the frame. We begin with coffee, a short introduction, and a practical check of cameras and intentions for the workshop. From there, we work in the city, using streets, architecture, and movement as a way into stronger compositions and better timing.
Day 2 builds further on what you learned on the first day. We continue with people, atmosphere, colour, and place, working through the changing light of Málaga and ending with a recap and review.
Everything is kept flexible and adjusted to the group’s pace, interests, and rhythm.
Small group format
The workshop is limited to 4–8 participants. This creates space for individual feedback, personal guidance, and a more relaxed and focused atmosphere throughout both days.
Before the workshop, you will receive a short questionnaire about your experience, goals, camera, and lenses, so the teaching can be tailored more closely to you.
All levels are welcome. All camera brands and formats are welcome. Film photographers are also very welcome.
After the workshop
After the workshop, you are invited to a free group Zoom critique. This gives you time to edit, reflect, and continue the learning together with the group.
Practicalities
Participants arrange their own travel, accommodation, and meals.
Please bring weather-appropriate clothing, charged batteries, empty memory cards, or fresh film.
You will receive practical information before the workshop, including details to help you prepare and stay close to the meeting point if you wish.

We meet at Café Central Malaguetta, Plaza de la Constitución 11, 29005 Málaga
It is a central and easy meeting point, right in the heart of the city.
