Women and men and women/ Kvinder og mænd og kvinder

They were there. Men dressed as women, and men dressed as men. Women dressed as men, and the women who was the women they came as. For some the clothes are for this one evening and event. For others it is about a lot more. Probably a clearance for a part of the audience, who had a night out and an opportunity to be who they really are. Some came for the drag show and entertainment party Queen of the Night. For others there is a more serious and deeper personal meaning, daring to show who they are.

Inderst inde.

When I as a Photographer asked to take their picture, before and at the break in the show, they all said yes. Without hesitation. Some walked around discreetly while other showed for self confidence. But they all where positive having their portrait taken.

I did not ask their names. I wasn’t of importance, although we always uses the name as byline when publishing photos of people. To know who they are. But I just wanted to do their portraits and let them speak for themselves. To show a small piece of the person behind the glamour and dress. They all thanked me for taking their picture. You’re welcome, for giving me a moment frozen of a state of mind and showing me your personality.
